Music lectures can be build towards Royal Conservatory preparation or simply a music exploration including experimenting different genres of traditional Classical, Jazz improvisation and Popular arranging. Students are encouraged to participate in performance opportunities such as recitals and festivals.
PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS
Beginner private one on one lessons are offered in half hour classes. 45 minutes and one hour lessons are available upon level of the student or specific requests. Rates are varied between levels and durations of class.

GROUP CLASSES
Beginner group classes are designed to introduce positive peer modelling and mutual motivation into the fun of learning a new instrument. These courses are well structured with a music curriculum that includes Popular music, Jazz music and Classical music developed by the teacher herself, aim to construct well-rounded musicians incorporating practical skill, theoretical knowledge, ear training and composition. It's a fun class and also educational!
If your child has had previous piano experiences, your child may be able to join one of the current on going group classes. In our intial interview, skill evaluation will be done to determine whether the child can transition smoothly into a existing group class.
THEORETICAL LESSONS
Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level Rudiments and History are offered in both 60 minute group classes or 30 minute private lessons.
Accelerated Rudiment is a condensed course of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels all taught in one year. It is taught in 90 minute group classes or 60 minute private lessons.

PAYMENT DUE DATE:  Monthly payments are due at the first lesson of each month. An envelope will be send home with exact dates of the next month lessons and the amount due.

MISSED LESSONS

Any missed lessons may be re-arranged with a minimum of a week’s notice. But student is responsible for any missed lessons less than 24 hrs notice; therefore, payment is due regardless of the absences. Students may have a maximum of one lesson reversed per one school calendar with 24 hours’ notice. Cancellation of lessons due to sport games, family outing, or other activities conflicting with piano lesson will not be refunded. Please do keep in mind that I cannot re-sale your time slot to another student without jeopardizing your lesson.

HOLIDAYS
Studio is closed for all national holidays.
Saturday students should be aware that any national holidays/Pro-D Days from school leading to a long weekend will not affect piano lessons. Keep in mind that national holidays are only one day, Saturday does not count as a holiday. Therefore, Saturday classes will continue throughout the course of the school year unless changes are made by the teacher. And "no show" lessons will not be refunded nor rescheduled. If you have plans for the long weeks, I need one week advance notice.

EXTRA FEES
Music books are not included in the tuition fee, instead books are decided upon the first class to fit each student's level and interest. All books are consulted with the parents before purchase, then to be reimburse to the teacher. Festivals and examinations fees are also not included in the tuition.
PARKING
Please do not drop off your child right on 196 street as it may cause traffic problem and danger to your child. There are plenty of street parking on 195a street, it is a nice little walk from my place. You may park temporarily infront of my garage but please make sure you are not blocking the path of other cars.
AT THE STUDIO
I expect students to arrive on time with their books each week. If books are forgotten, I sometimes may have a second copy at the studio that students may use. But it is not guaranteed. Students are welcome to come in without knocking on the door, but should enter quietly as another student is in the middle of their lesson. My studio will be open 5 minutes before classes begin each day. If you arrived early and my studio is not open, please wait patiently in the car until it is you time.

THE STUDIO PIANO:
My piano is open to all students for practices and for lessons but please treat my piano with extra care. Any banging or maks may cause permanent damage to my piano which may cause hundreds to repair. And because piano is the common groun in which all student are in contact with, please clean your hands before and after each lesson for sanitary reasons. (especially during the flue seasons) I have provided hand sanitizers in the waiting area that you may use, or you may consider bringing your own wet wipes.

CONTACTING THE TEACHER:
Because I work at such odd hours, you may not always reach me on the phone. I would recommend texting or emailing me and I can get back to you when there is a 2 minute break between students or after work. Don't worry, my phone is always on silent and put to the side when I teach. Messages are only checked when I am between students or having break.
