DOWNPAYMENT/DEPOSIT

A downpayment of one month's lesson fee is required to secure your spot in my schedule. This deposit will be used towards the last month's lessons. The downpayment is non-refundable. 

 

LATE FEE

Monthly payments are due at the last lesson of the previous month. There will be a 10% late fee after 3 days grace period.

 

MISSED LESSONS

Just like soccer or dance, students are responsible for any missed lessons; therefore, payment is due regardless of the absences. I would be happy to offer a make-up lesson if given a 24-hour notice and if I have another time slot available during the same week. Or students can have the option of doing an offline assessment where they can send me a recording of their pieces and I give you an assessment via email. If a cancellation is called from me, I will provide a make-up lesson or credit to your account.

 

HOLIDAYS/ Pro-Ds

My studio will be closed for all national holidays, on the day of the holiday. Any national holidays/Pro-D Days from school leading to a long weekend will not affect piano lessons.  And "no show" lessons will not be refunded nor rescheduled. 

 

EXTRA FEES

Music books are not included in the tuition fee, instead, books are decided upon the first class to fit each student's level and interest. All books are consulted with the parents before purchase, then be reimbursed to the teacher. Festivals and examination fees are also not included in the tuition.

CANCELLATIONS

IOne month's notice is required for cancellations. The initial downpayment paid earlier in the year will be used towards the one month's notice.

CONTACTING THE TEACHER

Because I work at such odd hours, you may not always reach me on the phone. The best way to reach me is via texts or emails. I might be able to do a quick response in between lessons. My phone will always remain on silent and put to the side when I teach. Messages are only checked when I am between students or having a break. 

 

​PARKING

Please do not drop off your child right on 196 Street as it may cause traffic problems and danger to your child. Please park your car on the streets behind my studio. You may make a temporary stop in front of my garage but please make sure you are not blocking the path of other cars. 

 

AT THE STUDIO 

I expect students to arrive on time with their books each week. If books are forgotten, I sometimes may have a second copy at the studio that the student is using. But it is not guaranteed. Students are welcome to come in without knocking on the door but should enter QUIETLY as another student is in the middle of their lesson. My studio will be open 5 minutes before classes begin each day. If you have arrived early and my studio is not open, please wait patiently in the car until it is your time.  

 

THE STUDIO PIANO

My piano is open to all students for practices and for lessons but please treat my piano with extra care. Any banging or marks may cause permanent damage to my piano which may result in hundreds for repair. And because the pianos are part of the common area where all students are in contact, please clean your hands BEFORE and AFTER each lesson for sanitary reasons. (especially during the flue seasons) I have provided hand sanitizers in the waiting area that you may use.
